Jane Panton - July
For July I used the word 'luxurious'. I started off with a piece of felt I made last summer on a course with Jeanette Appleton at Bankfield museum. It has been hanging around ever since! I free machined into it quite heavily and then sewed on clusters of beads. The original piece of felt has various threads and pieces of sheers embedded into it.
Jane Panton - June
This is the first piece of our 5"x7" challenge and I am using the word 'garden'. For my inspiration, I spent a very wet but enjoyable morning at Warley Open Gardens. I used procion dyed binding tape and wove it to form the background. Then I free machined floral designs onto it and finished with a small amount of hand stitching.

Jane Panton - May
Turquoise is my remaining colour. I used foundation piecing to create the background. I cut out wavy, watery shapes from sheers with a soldering iron. I attached these using lines of machine stitching. Finally, I did some hand stitching using feather, double feather and cross stitch and I sewed on some beads.
Jane Panton - April
I layered up two squares of black cotton and a thick layer of wadding. I then machined with black thread on top and rubbed the tiniest bit of Goldfinger over the top surface.

Jane Panton - March
On a visit to York Art Gallery recently, I saw an exhibition called The Honest Pot. I thought it would fit well for the colour brown this month. The background is a piece of space-dyed velvet onto which I appliqued the shapes of the pots. The pots are calico, coloured with Inktense pencils.

Pink for February. Using Heat n Bond I pieced together some scraps of hand dyed and printed fabrics and a piece of old Laura Ashley curtain material. I used waste canvas to embroider the cross stitch pinks.

White for Janaury as we've had so much snow recently. Used no.10 Bernina foot to make tucks and then embellished with an assortment of white buttons and some pink thread for contrast.
